The wine that started it all. When we learned there was Malbec available at our own family's ranch, we jumped at the opportunity to make some. The Yates Vineyard is located around 1000 feet in the southern Mayacamas range, deep in the heart of the Mount Veeder AVA. This block of Malbec is located creekside, surrounded coastal redwoods and rock formations. These contribute to a fairly cool microclimate that protects it but also allows it to develop inky, concentrated flavors.
